Ultimate Blog Party 2010

Hi, welcome to my blog!  I invite you to look around and make yourself at home.  Feel free to look through my photo albums, listen to some music, grab a book from my library or just wander around my blog and leave some comment love.

My name is Daenel and I have the research skills of a librarian, the preservation skills of an archivist, the organizational skills of a mother and the domestic skills of a Stepford Wife.  I’ve been married for fifteen years and have five children and two grandchildren.  I’ve been blogging for about 2 or 3 years and I totally love it.  Because of my job as a librarian, I’ve tried to make it a point to keep up on emerging technologies (I’m also a bit of a g33k).  I also teach American history at a local university.  I know, most people say they hate history, but I guarantee if you take my class, you’ll enjoy it.

Party Question:

If your life had a theme song, what would it be?

My answer:  I’m Every Woman by Whitney Houston and Chaka Khan because I am a little bit of everything to everyone.  And I totally enjoy my oh~my~gosh~who~did~I~forget~to~pick~up~drop~off~sign~a~permission~slip~for life!

My Drink of Choice:

Frappe alla Nutella (Nutella Milkshake) courtesy of my friend, Paula (love her, if you get a chance, try some of her recipes ~ they are incredibly easy and oh~so~delicious)

Prizes I’d like to Win:

Disney Mickey 5-in-1 Tasty Bakers by Pop Art Toaster – Makes pancakes, waffles, muffins, breads, cakes and brownies shaped like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto.

$50 Initials, inc. gift certificate – Initials, Inc. believes “There’s only one you!” uniquely crafted for a God given purpose. Their products are inspired by this profound understanding.

MemoryMixer Digital scrapbook software on DVD for Mac/PC – Sharing Memories Made Easier. Includes tons of digital graphics to get you started! (200 backgrounds, 30 Pre-Designed albums, 1000s of Embellishments)

$100 gift certificates to Frownies skin care and anti-aging patches used by women like Renee Russo and Raquel Welch and moms who want to preserve their skins youthful appearance or reverse the signs of stress on the face.

Watermelon chicBuds for your iPod, computer, MP3 or walkman. – Listening never looked so good!

Party Invitation:

Everyone is welcome to this party.  All you have to do is head over to 5 Minutes for Mom and follow the directions.  Don’t forget to grab the badge, leave a link to your post and then do some partying at your neighbor’s blog.

Susan, the first time I walked into the library I walked right back out when I didn’t see the card catalog. LOL It can be intimidating when you haven’t been in a while but I can honestly say, the librarians love helping people and we get the biggest thrill out of introducing patrons to new library related technology.

Thank you for hosting the UBP ~ this has been a lot of fun.

  • Susan (5 Minutes for Mom)

Thanks so much for partying with us and for sharing your video over at

I’d love a Nutella milkshake right now… that sounds delicious.

I have to admit, even after all these years and going to University, I’m still a little intimidated looking up specific books in a library. LOL

    Talk more soon

  • Daenel

Hi Brea, thank you for visiting my blog. Ya know, my daughter always says a party doesn’t start until she arrives ~ so there you go. LOL

Trust me, I am no where near perfect. I’m a bit anal but not perfect. Ask my kids and my husband, they’d say I’m a bit quirky too.

Wow, I have to say I’m pretty jealous of your book collection ~ that is incredible. You are well on your way to becoming a librarian.

Thank you for following me, I’m heading over to your blog now.

    Have a good weekend.

    Hi Daenel!

Stopping by from 5 Minutes For Mom’s UBP2010, I’m fashionably late as per usual, but that’s not stopping me!

Wow girl, you are Wonder Woman! I’m not quite that perfect but I try to at least make sure my daughters socks match… Lol!

I love books too. I have my own personal library in the spare room. I have floor to ceiling bookcases around the walls and another row back to back down the middle of the room. All up I’ve got around 3,780-ish books, not that I’m counting… Lol! I keep a catalogue on my PC which includes synopsis and personal review. They are all in pretty much pristine condition as I’m a bit anal when it comes to my books. You are so lucky, to be a librarian would be my dream job!

I am now your newest follower. Come and visit me at Brea’s Befuddled Brain and if you like what you see, help me achieve my goal of reaching 100 followers by my birthday on 2nd May. If I make it, I’m doing a give-away to celebrate!

I hope to see you soon!

    Mwah x x x

Nutella Milkshake!! How did I not know about this creation? I lived on Nutella sandwiches as a teen which could explain why I had the freshman 15 BEFORE college!

Love your blog. I love the library too. I applied for and accepted an assistant librarian position a few years ago, unfortunately my babysitting fell through so I could not take the job. Now that my kids are in school perhaps I will give in another short.

I’m doing UBP as well. Stop by!

  • Daenel

@Stacey Thank you for visiting. I *love* coffee. Next time I have some I’ll think of you. Take care and I’ll definitely be visiting your blog again. Have a good week.

@Theresa Thank you ~ it took me 37 years to appreciate the name. LOL I think my taste in clothes and accessories is as exotic as my name so maybe my mom knew what she was doing? Anyway, thank you for visiting; I’ll be seeing you around the blogosphere. Have a good week.

  • Theresa
