Review and Giveaway: smarTouch Gloves by Isotoner (Closed)

Isotoner smarTouch GlovesLast winter, my family made fun of me because I wore fingerless gloves so that I could use my smart phone.  I tried using regular gloves but my fingers kept slipping and the touch screen didn’t register my taps.  It was most annoying.  Now Isotoner has solved the problem and I can save my fingerless gloves for fashion wear (you didn’t think I was gonna get rid of my fingerless gloves, did ya?).

This fall, Isotoner will introduce gloves with smarTouch technology.  Isotoner’s smarTouch technology gives you the ability to use touch screen devices (smart phones, ATMs, touch screens at gas stations, etc) while keeping your hands warm.  Yay!  Isotoner smarTouch technology uses:

  • Conductive thread on the index fingers and thumbs to convey electrical impulses to the touch screen
  • Non~slip material on the palm for improved grip
  • Stretch material for a great fit and increased flexibility
  • The gloves come in styles for both men and women

Review

I received a pair of sporty black and teal smarTouch Gloves and I think they’re absolutely adorable.  The fit was nice and snug and I was able to grip my phone without worrying about slippage because of the non~slip palm.  It took me a couple of seconds to figure out the “sweet spot” on the finger and thumb pads so I could use my Droid but once I did, I was impressed with how quickly (and accurately) I was able to type.

I haven’t had the opportunity to try the gloves  in cold weather, but once I do, I’ll update this post to let you all know what I think.

I don’t really like the winter but I guess it would have to be that I get the last week of the year off from work. I do love that!

My favorite thing about winter? REALLY? I live in Minnesota! It last for 6 months of the year. There’s very little to enjoy when it lasts that long. I suppose one beautiful part is when we’ve had an ice storm and everything is sheer white. It looks amazing. Oh, and I love the heater in my house. I had baseboards put in our basement last year because it was so cold!

My favorite thing about winter right now is probably watching my dog play in the snow. She is a corgi, and small, and so she tends to hop more than anything else. She also likes to dip her face into the snow, and when she pops up again, her face is all dusted in snowflakes. It’s really adorable. When I towel the snow off, she gets this blissful little look on her face, too. :)

I am a big fan of the end of winter:-D I do like being inside with a fire and a book on a snowy night though.

Favorite thing about winter? The trees. I have a love of photographing the silent creatures ‘sans clothing’, and winter is the best time to do it. It’s the only time of year you can follow the branches from start to finish, see how the shape of the tree is formed using simple ‘sticks’, and watch every bit of wildlife that inhabits it. There are plenty of other favorite winter things; the silence of a heavy snow, a warm cup of coffee on a chilly morning, silly hats and scarves that make us feel like children again. But the trees top the list.

As for the gloves, I was quite thrilled to hear about them! I wear gloves at work, and keep my mp3 player in my pocket. So when I need to fast forward a song or adjust the volume, I must remove my gloves to do so. On one pair, I deliberately snipped the material on the top of the index finger off, just so I could work the iPod. Silly, I know, but who knew that they would come up with such a ‘smart’ pair of gloves? I also have a pair of ‘photography’ gloves that have all the tips of the fingers cut out! Makes using the camera much easier! I just may have to price a pair this winter, so thanks for the info:)

How awesome! Thanks for the review.

Hmmm my favorite thing about winter is how much cuddling you seem to get from your children. My second favorite thing are being able to wear the awesome knitted scarves that my sister in law gifts me with! And my third favorite thing is all the wonderful smells of cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves that permeate the air of home. Ahhhh.
