I found out about Fabulous in February while reading my friend’s post over at Minister of Style and thought hmmm this is a good idea.  It’s so easy to get down on myself ~ my weight isn’t where I think it should be, my hair is swooping to the left instead of the right, etc. ~ sometimes I need to make a concerted effort to remember the things I truly love about me.  So here they are:

  • I have a wonderfully wicked sense of humor.
  • I’m not afraid to be silly in front of or with my kids.
  • I can throw down in the kitchen.

Fabulous in February is hosted by Melissa from A Working Mom’s Closet and Hope from Hope and the Dress Code.  They put together this meme to challenge themselves and others to write and share positive things about themselves to combat all the negativity we sometimes subject ourselves too.  If you’d like to participate, all you have to do for the next four Mondays in February is list 3 positive things that you like about yourself on your blog or in the comments section.  Then link up at either Hope’s or Melissa’s blog so everyone can celebrate you!

What do you love about yourself?

Thank you, Hope. I think what you and Melissa are doing is wonderful. We need to start talking better to and about ourselves.

LOL Girl, come on over… We can sit, eat, drink coffee and chat.

I love playing with my kids, I think it’s part of creating memories. I don’t want them to look back and only remember me fussing or being distant, ya know?

    I’m so glad you’re participating! That’s awesome!

I wish I could be more silly with kids. I’m okay with my daughter and will do anything to make her laugh but if I’m around a lot of other adults, I have a tough time being silly. And…I can’t cook. At all. My ex-husband is a chef so he did all the cooking. Once my daughter and I move out of my parents’ house in the next year, I’m gonna have to learn! I’m so envious of people who like to cook!

Melissa, my kids are pretty funny so they kind of make silliness easy for me. Having a husband or an ex~husband as a chef would intimidate. I’m a dump and stir kinda girl, but everyone seems to enjoy 90% of what I make. The rest? They’re like “Mom, ummmm, no!” LOL
