I Received the Stylish Blogger Award

UK Stylish Blogger AwardPeople blog for a variety reasons, some because they need an emotional outlet, some because they’re looking for a side hustle and some because it’s a way to make friends who share a common interest.  I blog because my husband kept yelling “I’m not your girlfriend, quit sharing your shopping experiences with me!”  For some reason, he just doesn’t seem to understand the thrill I get from finding the right pair of shoes or stumbling across the perfect bag.  On sale. So I share my life with you and it’s good to know that someone enjoys my ramblings…

1. Thank and link back to the person/persons who awarded you this award.

Thank you to my friend, fellow librarian and fitness shero, Sarah from Uberlibrariana.  I can’t remember the circumstances under which we met but I do know that I’ve been inspired daily by your fitness tips and constantly amused by The Rowan.  Thank you for this award, I’m honored.

2. Share 7 things about yourself

  • When I married my husband I couldn’t boil water, now I love to cook
  • I’m terribly shy and have to prepare myself for social events, however, teaching/speaking in front of a group doesn’t bother me
  • When I was younger I wanted to be a globe trotting reporter
  • Birds and cats scare the living daylights out of me, for weeks I refused to use my garage because it was inhabited by a family of cats and then a flock of birds took over
  • Sometimes I’ll text my kids the following message: “Don’t tell the others, but you’re my favorite.”
  • Car dancing is my favorite hobby
  • I love monkeys and hope someday to be one of those crazy ladies who dresses my pet monkey in a dress and walks her around the park (Hmmm, maybe I shouldn’t have shared that much crazy)

3. Then award 5-15 blogs that you follow.

In alphabetical order (because I’m a wild and crazy girl), I present the Stylish Blogger Award to:

4. Contact the bloggers and let them know of their reward!

Taking care of it now.  I love introducing people to new bloggers.  I hope you find them as interesting as I do.  Please stop by and show them some comment love.  Thank you.

I can totally relate to your 2nd point. I am shy too but public speaking (as long as I know what I am talking about) is fine.
    Thanks for the love!!

Girl, I stress over social events because I just never know what to do, say, etc. And when it’s over I spend the rest of the night reviewing everything. It’s so stress enducing but if I could speak or lecture, I’d be fine.

So first, THANKS for the AWARD.

    Now:

When I got married I couldn’t boil water, and I still can hardly boil water but I am trying!

Monkeys are quite cute I’ll admit. We went to the zoo on Friday, and we must’ve stood at the monkey window for 10 minutes looking at the babies. Now owning one, not sure about that.

Yay, new blogs. I hadn’t come across these. Going to visit now. Loves me some good blogs!

    Thanks again

      Mimi, you’re so welcome!

Cooking is hard but I find it relaxing. And now that I have The Food Network… Woo hoo!

I would love to go to the zoo and watch the monkeys. I’d probably never leave.

I’m always trying to find new blogs, I like to change my reader up every now and then. There are so many talented/interesting/funny/informative writers out there.

    Hi.

I think that was the only series (Little House on the Prairie) that I read over and over as a kid. I see it from time to time on tv. My kids don’t have the same love for the show or the books like I do. lol Their generation is more of Capatin Underpants and Twillight. Thank you for thinking of me for this award! I love blogger awards! Congrats on the award. Texting your kids about being favorite is too funny. I’m always telling the kids their my favorites.

I’m glad you like the idea for music when you exercise. I started to listen to my cd’s. It’s time for me to move it over to my itouch.

Congrats on the award and have a great weekend!

It’s hard to get kids to understand the importance and the fun in just sitting down and reading a book… I fear what it has done to their imaginations and their sense of make believe. I see it in the writing of my students. Technology is wonderful but it has also hurt us enough that there are times when I wish we could all have a “Little House on the Prairie” experience just once.

Aren’t the blogger awards a great way to introduce new blogs and recognize the writing/talent of other bloggers?
