No Greater Love

John 3:16

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

John 15:13

There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

As parents, we’re conditioned to say that we would sacrifice everything for our children, even our own lives.  But would you sacrifice your life for a friend?  For a complete stranger?  Would you, knowing that your friend, was guilty of a crime, go before the judge and say “Your Honor, here I am, I’ll take my friend’s punishment”?  That’s what Jesus did for us when he was crucified, he was punished for crimes he never committed so that we could go free.  Every time I think of what He did for me, my heart overflows…
