Tools of the Trade

I was never much of a pink lipstick girl. I prefer browns and berries but lately, I’ve been playing around with brighter/softer colors. I’m still not completely sold but I’m trying…

Do you change up your lipstick colors or do you stick with the tried and true?

I’m linking up with Misty and Kim for Shoot. Edit. Submit. If you’d like to join in, the “rules” are simple:

I use to always wear natural to bronzy tones.  BUT…I read an article a few years ago on “How to look 10 years younger” (haha…yes I did!), and it said sheer pinks in a tone or two darker than your natural lip color is the way to go.  I NEVER wore pinks…but gave it a shot.  Let’s just say I LIVE in sheer pinks now :)

LOL OK, I may have to rethink the pinks now!

Ooooo- I bet those berry tones look fabulous on you!  I like to mix it up- I do go through phases where I like a nice nude lip, then I go to berry, then I want a champagne gloss- I tend to keep the whole face soft- which my hubs doesn’t like. He loves heavy eyes. But I really have to have an excuse for that. I like to play with my make-up but at the same time- I’m a beach girl at heart- so I only wear just enough to look pulled together, but natural.

My sister does a fabulous nude lip and there’s a lady at our church who also does one. I cannot get it right to save my life (it’s always the wrong shade or something just looks off). I love a nude lip. Getting to play with makeup is definitely one of the perks of being a girl. LOL

I like a brow or pale peachy but not orange kind of color. Pink isn’t good on me but I love the colors in your shot. Great shot!  ;)

I’m definitely a brown girl. I think my skin tone is too yellow for pink but I see it on other people and it looks so pretty.

First… “Ooh! Bare Essentials” I used to LOVE darker browns, but lately, I’ve been into the sheer tan or soft shiny colors with a hint of orange. Sounds awful, but I swear the orange brings out the blue in my eyes… the whole complimentary colors thing. Great subject! :)

My sister wears orange and she says the same thing, the contrast is great. I may have to give that a try. And, yep, I love myself some Bare Essentials. Best makeup ever.

I’m definitely a pink lipstick kind a girl, and I’m in trouble if covergirl ever gets rid of my color!! ; )

LOL That’s how I felt about this shade called “Coffee Bean”. Now I can’t find it. :-(
