Twenty~Eight {What I Wore Wednesday}

This week has been crazy busy but not nearly as crazy busy as next week will be. Can you believe it’s almost Thanksgiving? I am so not ready. I don’t have a turkey or a ham. I have one can of pumpkin pie filling and a bag of potatoes. Did I mention that I’m having my parents, my sister and her family over? Are you ready? Do you have a menu planned?

I’ve got nothing. Well, no, I do know what I’m going to wear and, really, looking cute is all that’s important. The pictures will last forever, the meal not so much.

What I Wore Friday

The hubs and I spent some time together on Friday, just hanging out. I almost never wear dresses or skirts unless we’re going to church but I just couldn’t resist slipping into this cute little peasant dress. Can you believe I got it on sale for $2.47? Craziness, huh?

Notice the socks? I love the look of socks with boots and skirts/dresses. I just think it looks so playful and fun. And it keeps my toes warm.

What I Wore Monday

Today began the Colors of the Season Fall Fashion Challenge and the first challenge was to wear teal. This one was so hard for me. I knew it would be. I’d long ago given my only teal item to one of my daughters who then gave it to one of my other daughters. I took it back.

And that skirt? I bought it at the thrift store! I cannot believe I found something so cute. I’m always complaining that our thrift stores have the ugliest clothes but looook what happens when you go digging. It still had the tags on it!

Also, you can’t tell, but I’m wearing wine colored tights. Yep, I’m totally digging the colored tights trend.

What I Wore Tuesday

I’ve had that velvet blazer in my closet for. Ever. I’m not sure what made me buy it… The color, the velvet, the Victorian cut? I don’t know but it probably would’ve continued to sit in my closet had it not been for this challenge.

Also I was having a really good hair day…

Thank you, Thessa. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, those are probably my best clothing purchase of the last 4 years.

That velvet jacket is amazing – what a great shape and fabulous color! And I totally agree on the first set of boots! Too much fun and great style! And they look COMFORTABLE (which is becoming a real priority for me these days)! Total win!

    • DaenelT

That’s so cool. Librarians totally rock. LOL My hubs was incredibly supportive while I was studying to finish my degrees. Definitely a team effort.

I don’t know why I let that jacket sit in my closet for so long. I felt totally glam while wearing it. Definitely a confidence booster, ya know?

Your velvet jacket is incredibly gorgeous. I bet it would look awesome with that blue dress.

    • DaenelT

Oooooh, I didn’t even think about wearing it with the blue dress. I’m gonna have to try that out. Thanks for the idea.

  • HollyM

How cute is that 2.47 dress?!! And you in it! Adorable!
I’ve invited another couple (my best friend and her SO) for Thanksgiving. I do the turkey, dressing and mashed taters; she does a side and the pumpkin pie. I’ll make some appetizers, and some homemade applesauce. (Just for the hubs, there will also be cranberry sauce.) I need my turkey, bread and celery for the stuffing, but that’s about it. Tell everybody to bring something, and you’ll do the main attraction. ;-)

    • DaenelT

      Thanks, Holly.

Mmmm… Homemade applesauce! Do you put raisins or anything in yours?

So funny you mention having people bring stuff. That honestly never occurred to me and then my mother called and said she was bringing stuffing and told my sister to bring something. Yay for people being considerate. LOL

All three of these are well put together, as usual. :) I’m still lusting after those boots in the first pic. And I love the yellow dress!

    • DaenelT

Thank you, Amanda. Those boots are by far the best clothing purchase I’ve made in the last 4 years.

  • Rae

Always dressed so nice! Go girl!

    • DaenelT

      Thank you, lady.

  • Whitney

    • DaenelT

loving the great hair day and that blazer oh so sweet!! Also love the dress/tunic for $2.47 score!! You look gorgeous in all your posts – as always. Thanks for being part of Wardrobe Weds

    • DaenelT

Thank you. I know the dress/tunic was such a fabulous buy. It’s a little big but I think belted with jeans it’ll look cute too.
