What I Wore {In the Closet}

I’m sitting here in my living room watching the news, we’ve been under a tornado watch for the last 45 minutes or so. Still such a surreal feeling. I keep texting my staff at the library to see if they’re OK. I’m sure I’m getting on their nerves. But I worry. I told them that when they started working with me. So far everything is OK on our end; a lot of wind and rain with a bit of lightning. I can handle this…

Faux Fur Vest, Black V Neck Sweater, Jeans and Boots {Living Outside the Stacks}

The weather has been rather bipolar lately. Last week it was freeeeezing, like in the 30s. This week we had two days where it was almost 70°. Seriously, what is this? Yesterday I was complaining because it was cold and dreary and tired of winter, well, I don’t want it flip flopping either. Silly humans, we just can’t be satisfied.

This faux fur vest is absolutely perfect for the crazy weather we’re having. I still haven’t quite figured out how to style it though. I see ladies wearing these vests with turtle necks and dresses, both of which I’ve tried with varying degrees of success. At first, I thought I was too ummmm, how should I say this too round to wear a faux fur vest. That’s also why I’ve mostly avoided animal prints, I have no desire to look like I should have a target on my heiny. But with ahem age comes wisdom and confidence. So I’ll be adding the faux fur vest into the rotation.

Paired with these Sofia Vergara jeans have I mentioned how much I heart these jeans I think it all has a kinda retro hippie chic vibe that is so me.

    You look super fab in this. I am so jealous since whenever I tried to rock a faux fur vest I just looked like Chewbacca.

    I think your jeans really add to the overall look and of course your amazing hair.

    bisous

      Hi, Carissa. Thank you for stopping by. That vest is such a cool piece but it doesn’t get nearly enough wear.

    You are making this your “own”. I think there is a recurring theme around the blogs today! I really like this look. Have fun with it!

      Thanks, Shon. I think you’re right, this is the week of being your own woman and embracing our uniqueness.

    i’ll have to “hunt” down a vest! i love how you chose to wear it…especially with the v neck sweater. i’m not a fan of vest + turtlenecks and like them best with anything that shows a little bit of neck {buttondowns, v’s or scoop neck}. you could rock this with a dress for sure! hope the weather has calmed down…happy wednesday!
