Sweater Weather Girl {In the Closet}

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, I’m a sweater weather kind of girl! And now I’m definitely a skirts girl too. And boots. I heart boots. With socks.

Black Sweater Khaki Skirt and Black Boots {Living Outside the Stacks}

Yesterday I wore jeans to work and it was, without a doubt, the most uncomfortable I’ve been in a long time. I don’t know when it happened or how it happened but I think I’m giving up jeans in favor of skirts. Of course, I’m saying that now, while the weather is still relatively warm.

For years I didn’t like to wear skirts or dresses because:

  1. I have chicken legs
  2. I thought they were just too dressy for every day wear
  3. As a kid I had to wear them all. the. time. because we were in church all. the. time. Seriously, my mom didn’t play. Even if it were 20 below we had on skirts or dresses with tights. Even now, she gives the side eye if I even look like I’m thinking about possibly wearing pants to church.

Now I find them to be comfortable and I never feel under dressed or over dressed, just all Baby Bear like {you know, just right}.

    I used to wear jeans all the time, until I discovered the “Scandinavian layer look”. It is so much more comfortable than jeans. I usually wear a dress, a long cardigan and leggings or tights when it gets colder. And I LOVE (flat) boots, especially with overknee socks.

    I love skirts too more and more everyday, but they just aren’t practical for my work everday. Cute outfit.

    I honestly cannot wait until it gets cooler to pull out my cable knits and thicker blazers! I’m a sweater weather girl as well!

    Those boots are great on you! I love sweaters, tights, and all things fall as well! Glad it’s finally cooling down enough to wear them.

    I love your boots! I bought some similar ones from Walmart, in black and brown. Practically lived in them last winter. Do you find that the top buckles get caught in some of your longer skirts? Seemed to happen to me quite a bit.

      Ohhhh I wish I’d found a brown pair! I think these are the most fabulous style of boots. So versatile. Most of my skirts come just above the knee or right at, so I haven’t had a problem yet. However, I did buy a few longer dresses, so I’ll take note.

    Stiff jeans are very uncomfortable but I have worn jeans with some stretch in them for the last few years and now don’t mind wearing jeans. haha. It’s a bit of a cheat but I like the look of jeans but don’t like how stiff they really are.

    Love that you started to embrace wearing skirts now despite the apprehension you have had before. Cute outfit!!

      I have such a love hate relationship with jeans. I think because I can’t find a pair that really fits well. I do like the stretch but now I feel confined. Make sense?

    I live in jeans. I love to dress up, but my work-from-home lifestyle doesn’t really lend itself to dressing up. When I do, the kids ask “Where are YOU going?” like I might be up to something without them. At church, I volunteer every Sunday and our “uniform” is a t-shirt (for our class) and jeans. So, dressing up for church is out, too. I save my dresses for date nights nowadays.

    You have a great sense of style. I’ve always loved to see your What I Wore Wednesday posts. You give me ideas!!
