2014 Daily Selfie: Week 2 {In the Dark Room}

Hi there! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty nice. I spent most of Saturday vegging on the sofa, got sucked in to watching the Hallmark Channel. It was a Janet Oke weekend. I’ve never read her books but, man, was I swept away by the romance, positive messages of putting God first, and loving your family. hand me the tissues

Sunday was pretty nice as well. The family and I went to church then I came home and made a big ol’ pot of white bean and beef soup. So delicious! The rest of the day was spent doing, what else, but laundry.

What about you? Did you do anything exciting?

As I said last week, I’m participating in #2014dailyselfie, so here are my submissions:

I started reading this book by Beth Moore. So very intense and full of truths. I thank God every day for His love and forgiveness.

My baby celebrated her 17th birthday this week. One time, when she was about 8 years old, she looked me dead in the eye and said: “Mom, besides me, which of your other kids did you want?” She’s the youngest of 5.

My first cup of coffee in my new office. Hat tip to the hubs for helping me move.

I arrived at work at 7 AM, but I was so busy that I didn’t get my first cup until almost 10 AM.

So many people tell me that they love Fist Bump Friday because it makes them happy to share their good news and to read other people’s news.

I’m linking up with:

  • 2014 Daily Selfie ~ Instagram: I’m doing this with a few of my Instagram friends. “Selfie” is open to interpretation, as long as there is part of your body in the photo, it counts. Use the hashtag #2014dailyselfie.

i’ll have to check out that book … especially since i’ve committed myself to a book club this year! we’ll see how that goes, as i’m not one for reading on a schedule! AND … let it be known … i want that ring!

    • It’s a really intense read. I’ve had to stop and think more than a few times. But I am learning from her insight.

I tried a book club once but the scheduling the reading was just too much for me.

That ring. It’s so much fun and looks way more expensive than it really is… I seriously think it only cost me about a buck or two.

  • Ah, your post makes me feel like an underachiever this second week of January! LOL! I always love coming in and catching up with you. Now I think that I may have to participate in the Selfie love from Instagram. I never need an excuse to use Instagram! Oh, and Happy New Year!

    • Ha! And I feel like I haven’t accomplished much of anything.

You should totally do the daily selfie. And get the babies in there. I love seeing your little people. They’re so expressive.

Happy Happy to you as well.

  • Your new office looks so nice! I just started that Beth Moore book as well. How nice of her to make several of her books free for the new year 🙂

    • Thank you. I’m now trying to find little things to add character. I need to find pictures for the walls. I was thinking about printing out some of my coffee photos and putting them up. I don’t know yet…

I, honestly, had never heard of Beth Moore until I started reading your blog. This book is just insightful.
