Denim Jacket White Sweater Black and White Striped Skirt and Boots {living outside the stacks}

Hi! How’ve you guys been? I feel like it has been forever since I’ve done a “What I wore…” post. I ain’t gonna lie, it’s not that easy getting back in front of the camera again, especially since I’ve been spending so much time behind the lens. But I’ve missed this part of blogging, so here I am… Trying to get my fashion/blogging mojo back.

This is the outfit that I wore to work today. I’m finding it hard to figure out how to dress now that we’re living in Georgia. This morning when I started getting dressed it was pouring and a little bit chilly, by this afternoon, it was balmy. But the library was freeeeeeezing. So no matter what I wear, I’m always going to be dressed a couple of degrees too warm.

I got the idea for this outfit from Pinterest. It’s not chilly enough for a knit scarf so I substituted my orange beaded necklace in its place. I absolutely adore that necklace but I don’t wear it nearly enough. The denim blazer is a fun piece that I’ve also had for more years than I can remember. I found that “V” neck sweater at a thrift store in Missouri. Can I tell you how much I miss my thrift stores? The skirt is a recent purchase from Target. I love knit skirts but have always been afraid to wear them because of the junk in the trunk, but I figure if I haven’t lost it by now… The boots and socks are also Target buys.

Anyway, it’s good to be back. I’m linking up with the following ladies:

    And now I’m pinning your look for my own inspiration! 🙂

  • Great layering and I love the jewelry too. Thanks for linking up to Vis Monday.

    • Thank you, Patti. I’m adding your dress to my wish list. I love it!

  • Layers are critical, especially at this time of year when the temps can fluctuate wildly. Love the way you’ve styled your look! And those boots are so cute!

    • Thank you, Mary. I’m learning. We moved here from Missouri and before that we were in Pennsylvania, so I’m used to definite seasons. This place seems to have hot outside and freezing inside, that’s it. LOL

  • Yea, layering is a must do around here in SC, too. Cold in the morning and hot by lunch. I am really liking this look on you! It all works so well together and those boots are Fab! So glad to see a fashion post from you again. You should link up your look with my Fabulous Friday link-up. 🙂

    • I had no idea they’d keep the building so cold. Although it should’ve dawned on me, being that every library I’ve ever worked at has had this problem.
      I wasn’t sure about the boots. I love them but I thought they were a bit heavy {or maybe I’m just looking for an excuse to buy a pair of leather riding boots}. LOL
      Definitely gonna link up when I get to my computer.

  • Cute outfit! I recommend layering like crazy. I’ve never lived in Georgia, but from your description (especially pertaining to the office), we get a lot of that type of weather around here, and layering (+ the secret space heater under my desk) saves me.

    • Yeah, I think I’m going to need to invest in more layering pieces. I have a lot of cardigans but not long sleeve tops and blouses. If we could just get them to turn off or, at least down, the air, I’d be so happy.

      • If you have one in your area, Maurice’s has some great long-sleeve layering tees this time of year. The material is great and the hold up well. I’ve had some of mine for years.
