Before I get started, let me stress that I AM NOT GIVING UP COFFEE.

I was in the grocery store picking up a few things for dinner when a little brown box caught my eye in the coffee aisle. Actually, it was the wordsChocolate Orange“. I was all hmmm… What is this?

I picked up the box, looked at it. And was a bit intrigued. I’ve never been much of a tea drinker, I mean, I drink iced tea with my dinner because I live in the South and that’s just what you do, but as far as sitting down to make myself a cup of hot tea? Nope. I prefer coffee.

But the idea of putting together my own blend seemed like fun. So I bought the Celestial Loose Leaf Tea Chocolate Orange Black Tea Blending Kit.

The kit comes with organic Assam black tea, organic orange peel, organic cocoa nibs, and rock sugar.

I wish you could smell this through the computer. So. Very. Mouthwatering.

The first two times I made the tea, I followed the easy directions on the side of the bag, just to get a feel for how the tea *should* taste. The next few times, I experimented with the amounts and with the sweeteners. The rock sugar didn’t make the tea sweet enough for me, so I used honey. With the addition of the honey, it was perfect. But, truth be told, it could just be that I’m used to really sweet iced tea. Other than that, I found the tea to be delicious and will be adding more to my Coffee {and tea} Bar.

Side note, this tea would also be a wonderful compliment to my Orange Cranberry {walnut} Bread.

If you decide to try it, let me know. And if you have suggestions for funky infusers, leave the store name below.
