Yesterday, I got to spend some one~on~one time with the boy. It’s rare that he and I spend time hanging out with each other. I’m so not into video games and he could care less about crocheting. But one thing we do have in common is a love of old cars. Who knew?

When we spotted this 1957 Chevy Bel Air in the parking lot, we just had to stop.

We walked around the car, talked about how we’d fix it up. Where we’d like to take it on a drive. Just a bunch of random musings…

I had no idea that the boy was that into cars. And I’m pretty certain that he had no clue that I like vintage cars. I know others see a rusty old car, but I see the potential and I love it.

Sometimes, I think that’s how God viewed me, like an old rusty car sitting on the side of the road and He saw my potential, took me home, renovated me and made me a new creature {2 Corinthians 5:17}. I’m so grateful that even at my worst, He loved me anyway.
