THE AGELESS STYLE LINKUP
Hi, welcome to the Ageless Style Linkup. The linkup runs the first Tuesday of each month and features 10 women over the age of 40 styling an outfit based on one theme, and, because we’re all so different, each theme interpretation is different. Each month, one of the co-hosts invites a guest co-host to join us for the linkup. Our goal is to show you that style is ageless…
This month’s theme is: “Jumpin’ Into Jumpsuits” and was chosen by Paula from Dimples on My What.
MY LOOK
Not gonna lie, I was super excited when I found out this month’s theme. For so long I was anti-jumpsuit/romper. I mean, what grown woman would wear a one piece outfit {never mind that’s essentially what a dress is, but whatevs} and what about the impracticality of having to ahem relieve one’s self?! Then I saw this yellow one while I was out shopping with my daughters and I. Had. To. Have. It.
I tried it on and my daughters were like “Yes, Mom, that’s so you. Loud and colorful.” Ummmm, what?
Anyway, the first time I wore it was here. And, yes, I did bring all the color. Then I saw this romper and decided that it needed to come home with me as well. As much as I like that romper, I don’t wear it near enough. It’s the long sleeves. It’s just too darn hot in Louisiana for all black with long sleeves. Maybe in the Fall for a night out with The Hubs {remind me when it starts to get cooler}. I may wear it something like this, what do you think? And I recently added this one because I thought it was a little more versatile than the yellow one and it was on sale for $15. Kid you not! So, yeah, I’m a total fan of one piece dressing.
This necklace has been in my jewelry box for years. I bought it because I’m a fan of butterflies. I just think they’re beautiful and delicate but strong. If you pay close attention, sometimes you’ll see the outline of my butterfly tattoo. I’m thinking about getting another on my wrist… But that’s another conversation for another day.
And the leopard shoes? With the floral pattern? Animal print is a neutral in my book, so it goes.
