Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you had a peaceful introduction to 2018. We did. The Hubs, our youngest daughter, and I spent some time with our oldest daughter and her family and, wow, was it fun. We’re already talking about when we can see them again. The grandkids had us laughing at their antics. They even tried to teach The Hubs some new dance moves. 😳😂 You can see photos from our trip on Instagram, if you like.
THE AGELESS STYLE LINKUP
So, this is the first Ageless Style Linkup of 2018. Yay! I couldn’t be more excited. There are some exciting changes to announce, but first a little about the linkup.
The linkup runs the first Tuesday of each month and features 10 women over the age of 40 styling an outfit based on one theme, and, because we’re all so different, each theme interpretation is different.

This year, we’re also introducing a different co-host to the linkup each month. This month’s theme and co-host were selected by Cathy V from Cathy V Style. MY LOOK
As a librarian, I own more than my fair share of cardigans, but the one thing I don’t own a lot of are blazers. I’ve tried to wear them but I always feel like a little kid playing dress up in them. I mean, I love the way blazers look on others but on me? Not so much. That being said, I will wear a faux leather blazer in a heartbeat. Why? Because they’re edgy and a bit bohemian – a look that’s well within my comfort zone.
I remember back in the day when everyone had a black leather jacket / blazer. Honestly, we looked like Fonzie had become our personal stylist. Then, one day, leather blazers / jackets became uncool. Now leather jackets are cool again. Especially faux ones in unexpected colors. The one I’m wearing is a beautiful wine color that I use as a neutral. It can be worn with anything. The ruffles are perfect for softening up hard denim looks, while the cut of the leather toughens up flowy dresses.

For size information: I’m 5’5″ and wear a size L in the faux blazer, 12 in jeans, and a size 8.5 in the shoes. I wear a medium in Nickel & Suede earrings.
