Grey Cardi Floral Dress and Red Clogs {living outside the stacks} DaenelT

Guess what we did this weekend? We spent time with my family. Both of my parents, The Hubs and myself have all received the vaccine. I didn’t have any real side effects. With the first dose, my arm was incredibly sore for well over a week. With the second dose, I felt nothing.

ABOUT AGELESS STYLE

Welcome to Ageless Style! This month’s theme, “Transition to Spring,” was selected Amy from Amy’s Creative Pursuits.

MY OUTFIT

Spring in Louisiana means rain. A lot of rain and thick muggy weather. When we were stationed at Fort Polk {about 45 minutes from where we currently live}, The Hubs and I used to joke that it rained every day at 3 pm. Well, twentysomething years later and it rains every day except at 3 pm…

I never really know how to dress. The library is cold {as most libraries are} and the outside is humid. For this post, I opted to wear something I almost never wear — a dress. Although I’m the librarian at our college, I also take a lot of pictures for the school’s social media. Sometimes I’m in the welding booths, sometimes I’m in the nursing labs or the classrooms, in other words, I’m all over the place, so I have to dress with a bit of flexibility.

Dresses tend not to be as flexible as I need {remember the welding booths}, but I figured I could get away with wearing one today since I didn’t see anything on our schedule that would require any photo ops. This dress is light-weight with an abstract floral print. The bust/bodice is elasticated so there’s no stretching across the chest, which can be issue. I also like the length… perfect for work.

Because it was windy, I opted to top my dress with a maxi cardi. Even though the dress is long, the material is still light enough that a strong breeze can get me arrested for indecent exposure.

My go-to shoes when wearing a dress are my clogs. Clogs are quite possibly the most versatile shoes in my closet. I wear them with just about everything from skirts and dresses to jeans and shorts. They can be dressed up or dressed down, worn with or without socks/tights. I own three pairs so far, but am looking to purchase a low-heeled pair in black in the near future. You can get more clog inspiration here.

That necklace was a Christmas gift from my kids when they were in elementary school. They pooled their money and bought it for me at the school store. My oldest kid is in her thirties and my youngest is in her twenties. I knoooooow…. heart melt
