Happy Wednesday, all! Soooo, it looks like Spring is finally here to stay. Yay for warm weather and sunlight and all the fabulous things that come with it. Like casual dressing. Oh, yeah, I’m totally in to dressing casual during the warmer months, not down, but casual. There’s a difference. And to show off my love for warm weather casual, I’m participating in the Casual Clothes Mini Challenge that’s being hosted by Sylvia at  40+ Style.

Each week, Sylvia will post a casual outfit formula and challenge her readers to post their interpretation. If you’re game, head on over to 40+ Style and check out the inspiration pieces. PS she’s also running a fun contest on Pinterest! You can see my picks from last week by clicking here.

Citron Cardi Geek Tee and Jeans {Living Outside the Stacks}

When I first bought this tee, I kept thinking I’d only wear it around the house. All I kept hearing in my head was Clinton Kelly and Stacy London saying “Message tees are inappropriate on a woman over the age of 40.” Ummm, wrong! I’m 41, geeky, and stylish. And, hello, Kermit the Frog! Because the tee is a bit cutesy, I paired it with distressed jeans and oxfords. I think they gave my outfit a bit of edge. And, yes, I know, there’s a whole group of people out there who think distressed jeans on anyone over the age of 21 is a big fat NO. My answer? Don’t look. I’m wearing them. I adore them.

Tan Cardigan Mustard Striped Tee Denim Shirt Skinny Jeans and Boots {Living Outside the Stacks}

This outfit was all about the layers. I’ve had the chambray shirt in my closet for a long time but never wore it because, well, a Texas Tuxedo is not really my style. But pairing it with a striped tee and a cardi? Yeah, I could do that. And adding the cute little cargo hat just finished it off.

Brown Jacket Citron Sweater and Jeans {Living Outside the Stacks}

Oh, look! It’s the distressed jeans again. Told you I love them. This is one of my favorite outfits to wear when it’s not quite Spring and not quite Fall. Here in Missouri we have days where the winter has actually been warmer. Mostly what I like about this outfit is the color play and the scarf. The scarf is a metallic gold that was crocheted by yours truly!
