Coffee Talk {living outside the stacks}

I’d like to welcome you to Coffee Talk. If you’re new here, this is where I share some of the great and not~so~great stuff that I find on the web. Topics range from news stories that leave me scratchin’ my head to DIYs that I think are absolutely clever. And, who knows, there may even be a recipe thrown in here or there just for fun.

Yesterday was the first day of autumn and I couldn’t be more excited. I think I’ve said it before, but it deserves repeating: I LOVE FALL! I big puffy heart cozy sweaters. Friendly little woodland creatures sing to my soul when I see tights. I get all heart eyed when I slip into my boots. It’s just my season. Unfortunately, in Georgia, fall lasts about 3 days and then we have 2 weeks of winter and then it’s back to ohmygosh why is it so hot outside and freezing inside? That being said, I’m going to enjoy these few days of fall and rock my cool weather gear while I’m in the library and start peeling stuff off as I walk out the door.

Have you tried the Caramelized Apple Pound Cake at Starbucks ? I have and all I can say is yummmmmm…. I don’t even want to know how many calories are in it. I. Don’t. Care. It’s worth every bit of shimmying into my jeans this morning. And I’m not even an apple cake person, but this is definitely going on my seasonal favorites list.

Have you been to Pier 1 lately? I was in there a few weeks ago and picked up some new diffusers {a few for my offices at the libraries where I work and a couple for the house}. We can’t burn candles at work because fire hazard, so diffusers are the next best thing. I bought the Rustic Woodlands and, for the life of me, I can’t remember the name of the other one, but they both have a warm, inviting scent. Exactly the kind of vibe I want to give off when students come to my office.

Back in the day, The Hubs and I used to loooooove watching cribs. We enjoyed talking about the crazy stuff that celebs did to their homes to make them more comfortable. Inevitably, these conversations would lead to discussions about what we’d do if we had an unlimited amount of funds. Or, at least, just enough to splurge without it hurting us. I used to say I’d get a pet monkey. And as much as I love monkeys, after living with Squeekerz all of these years… Well, I’ve  had enough with hairy toddlers. So, I think my fun money purchase would be a custom Airstream by Timeless Travel Trailers. The Hubs and I have had our camper for a few months now and I love it, but I’m absolutely head over heels for these custom campers. I’d park it in our yard and use it as my own private retreat. What would you spend your fun money on?

Now, it’s your turn… What’s going on in your world? Anything have you scratching your head or belly laughing? Is there a book I absolutely must add to my TBR Shelf? Have you cooked or ordered anything tasty?

Cheers,

Daenel T {Living Outside the Stacks}
