Coffee Talk {living outside the stacks}

I’d like to welcome you to Coffee Talk. In case you’re new here, this is where I share some of the great and not~so~great stuff that I find on the web. Topics range from news stories that leave me scratchin’ my head to DIYs that I think are absolutely clever. And, who knows, there may even be a recipe thrown in here or there just for fun.

So grab a cup of coffee {or tea or whatever floats your boat} and let’s talk…

  • A couple of days ago, one of my friends posted this video by Kev on Stage. blank stare Who’s child is that and why did they agree to allow their baby to be used in such a manner? No amount of money is worth the degradation to that child. This is not the way you talk about hunger. How can we expect people to respect us when we can’t even respect ourselves?
  • So I found out yesterday that my class is definitely a go. I’ll be teaching American History from 1877 to the present. So far, I have about 9 students. I’m thankful for the small class. It’s been a long time since I’ve taught, so starting small is going to be a big help. I guess that means I’ll be spending Christmas break finalizing my syllabus.
  • I’m tired of Donald Trump. Actually, I’m tired of everyone being tired of him. If he stops getting attention, he will go away. I would never tell him {or anyone else for that matter} to shut up because too many people fought and died for everyone in this country to have the right to say and/or believe what they want. But I will say, treat him like {some} of y’all do when your kid is having a temper tantrum. Just walk away. Side note: intolerance goes both ways. You can’t yell about being disrespected while calling someone out of their name just because you disagree with their point of view.
  • I feel the need to share this post again: If You’re Stressing Over Christmas, You’re Doing It Wrong!

Now it’s your turn, what’s on your mind?
