Coffee Talk {living outside the stacks}

I’d like to welcome you to Coffee Talk. If you’re new here, this is where I share some of the great and not~so~great stuff that I find on the web. Topics range from news stories that leave me scratchin’ my head to DIYs that I think are absolutely clever. And, who knows, there may even be a recipe thrown in here or there just for fun.

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I’ve been a vegetarian for almost a week now. It kinda started as a joke, you know? My twin sister has been living the vegetarian lifestyle for few weeks now and my daughter has been a vegetarian for a few years. I’ve tried several times before but, let’s just say, one time I seriously considered eating my children and gave up. Anyway, I was talking to my mom and I told her that The Hubs and I were coming to their house for Thanksgiving and that it was going to be a vegetarian one to accommodate my sister. She didn’t take to kindly to my suggestion, but I’m bossy, so… We’re going to have turkey and all of the other traditional stuff too. Buuuuut, while I was talking, I realized that I  hadn’t had any meat products in a few days so I might as well go with it. shrug For the first few days, I was hitting up Panera Bread like it was my personal kitchen. I mean, come on, the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich and Modern Greek Salad with Quinoa are e’erything. But, Panera is not my kitchen and it got expensive. So I had to come up with another game plan. After doing a little research, The Hubs and I went shopping and I picked up some stuff to make myself some quinoa, rice, and or veggie bowls. I’ll be sharing all the deets later on, but so far I’m happy. The Hubs, on the other hand, is continuing to eat all the meat.

Speaking of food, y’all, people in Hawaii are stealing Spam. SPAM! Did I miss something when my mom used to force feed that stuff to me when I was a kid? I need someone to taste test and report back. Is it really worth sticking behind a locked cabinet?

Some of y’all have been asking where I buy my tops from, well, some of them come from JC Penney and Target, but a majority of them come from Zulily. I like Zulily because I like to look different — I don’t want to see everyone wearing the same thing I’m wearing and Zulily removes that concern. I’ll start doing full reviews/showings of the items I purchase in the next few weeks so that you all can see the wide variety of tops I’ve purchased.

Now, it’s your turn… What’s going on in your world? Anything have you scratching your head or belly laughing? Is there a book I absolutely must add to my TBR Shelf? Have you cooked or ordered anything tasty?

Cheers,

Daenel T {Living Outside the Stacks}
