Geek is Chic {In the Closet}

A few weeks ago I was asked by a friend if I ever have a casual day. Ummmm, yeah. All. The. Time. Most of the pictures that I post for What I Wore Wednesday are taken when I’ve either just gotten home from work or before I head off to church. If I’m just hanging out around the house, I’m in jeans and a tee or, much to the hub’s horror, sweats and an over sized tee.

However, last Friday I was feeling pretty rushed casual, so I wore a tee, cardi, and jeans to work. I “amped” it up a bit by adding a pair of funky oxfords. Fortunately, for me, I work in a relatively casual environment so I didn’t raise too many eyebrows. Although I was called “geek” all day long. I didn’t mind. I own my geekiness.

And, you know what, you can never go wrong with Kermit. AmIright?

    • Hi, Olivia! I’m usually not that casual either (especially not on a work day but I just couldn’t help it). I’m so ready for warm weather. We keep having one really nice day and then six bad ones to punish us.

  • Kelly @ Kiwi Womens Style

    Casual can still be cool as you prove. I find maxi skirts and dresses pretty fantastic for those days you just can’t be bothered! Thanks for joining up with WW!

    • Kelly, I agree! Dresses and maxi skirts are so easy. I used to think they were just for dressing up, I’ve recently learned how to wear them casual and, wow, a whole new world. LOL

  • Ummm…I am TOTALLY going to DIY some two-tone oxfords, thanks to you. I LOVE those shoes! Where in the world did you get them? And yes — you can’t go wrong with Kermie 🙂

    • I cannot wait to see you DIY! I got mine at TJ Maxx for $24 which is more than I would normally pay but I’d been looking for a pair for a long time and figured with cost/wear they were worth it.

  • Shon Valdry

    i see you have style, I don’t have any style. If it looks good on the mannequin I usually just go with it.
