Hey, y’all, hey! Hope you had a beautiful weekend. We ended up having a beautiful weekend after a very stormy Friday night and early Saturday morning. The sad part is that I ended up having to go to the library to do a bit of work for our upcoming accreditation application. I feel like this has been my life for the last year or so. But, to be honest, it has been. We went right from one accreditation visit to another, so we really haven’t had a break.

Anyway, that’s not why you’re here so let’s get to it…

About the Fab Forties

The Fab Forties is a group of style bloggers from around the globe who come together once a month to share their common love of fashion. Each month we choose a different theme and invite a guest blogger, who is also in her forties, to join us. The group’s goal is to take on a style trend and show how we each interpret and incorporate it into our lives. Five different ladies, five different styles, you’re sure to find something that inspires you.

The Theme

This month’s theme is: “April Showers” and was selected by Suzy. I’d initially planned to style something blue but I just couldn’t get my act together. Then I remembered this top and was like “YES!”

April showers bring May flowers

I so love the stylized flowers and the bold colors. The collar is elasticized and can be worn on or off the shoulder – I wish I’d remembered to show that, but you can see it here, from when I styled this top with shorts. Not gonna lie, I wasn’t sure about styling a long sleeved top with shorts, but I love the look.

MY LOOK

One last thing, how fabulous are these jeans? They’re the perfect length and their tight but not too tight. And I stress that because I almost always wear baggy jeans, so this is new for me. Anyway, I’m looking for a similar pair in a straight leg version, so if you see a pair, lemme know. I need a 32 inch inseam {I’m all leg}.

Shelbee, Shelbee on the Edge  – Rediscover your edge

I’m so loving Shelbee’s tie-dye and the fringe is giving me heart palpitations!

Suzy, The Grey Brunette – Happily giving the finger to ageism!

Suzy looks so chic in her water inspired outfit. That skirt has me thinking of waterfalls!
