Has this Christmas season been a whirlwind or what? Usually, the holiday break seems so long, but this year everything seemed to go by in a blur. And, honestly, I couldn’t tell you why. We didn’t do anything exciting. Well, no, I did binge watch Designing Women. That show stands the test of time. What’d you do? Did you take a vacation?
ABOUT THE FAB FORTIES
The Fab Forties is a group of five style bloggers from around the globe who come together once a month to share their common love of fashion. Each month we choose a different theme and invite a guest blogger, who is also in her forties, to join us. The group’s goal is to take on a style trend and show how we each interpret and incorporate it into our lives. Six different ladies, six different styles, you’re sure to find something that inspires you.
The Theme
This is Jennie’s last Fab Forties! *insert all the crying emoji* So it only seemed right that she got to choose the theme: Polka Dots, natch! Not gonna lie, I was surprised by the amount of polka dots that I have in my closet. Especially since I so rarely wear them. My Outfit
I’ve had this dress in my closet since last year but I think I’ve only worn it a hand full of times. I’m not really certain why. I mean, really, what could be more comfortable than a tee shirt dress and a denim jacket? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
I don’t know why, but whenever I wear a denim jacket, I always wanna overload it with flair. Maybe a nod back to my 80’s childhood? Since I don’t have any of my “I❤️Milli Vanilli” buttons, I decided to go with a few of my cameos. Back in the day, I loooooved cameos. Did I ever mention that I was a weird kid?
A weird kid who turned into a weird adult with a penchant for clogs and tights. Please tell me I’m not the only one.
And this color combination… So neutral but also so colorful.

Honestly, I don’t know how long I’ve known Jennie. I know it has been well over two or three years now. But I do remember when I met her. She was this spunky blogger with a funky hair cut that I absolutely adored. But as much as I loved her hair {and Jennie knows that I LOVE HER HAIR}, it was her shoe collection that first captured my attention. I’d never met anyone who had as much shoe passion as I did. Over the years, Jennie and I would collaborate on things or take turns showing each other’s blogs some love.
When Jennie invited me to join the Fab Forties, I wasn’t sure. I mean, these ladies are so far out of my element style wise. I’m a librarian for goodness sake, and I dress like one. LOL Jennie listened to my concerns and then encouraged me to give the group a try. And, here I am, almost a year later. Now I have to watch her leave… It’s bittersweet. Jennie’s retro twist will be missed, but I know that I’ll still see her around the blogosphere and the ‘gram. If you are not yet following Jennie yet, I encourage you to do so here and here.
