About the Fab Forties

The Fab Forties is a group of style bloggers from around the globe who come together once a month to share their common love of fashion. Each month we choose a different theme and invite a guest blogger, who is also in her forties, to join us. The group’s goal is to take on a style trend and show how we each interpret and incorporate it into our lives. Five different ladies, five different styles, you’re sure to find something that inspires you.

The Theme

This month’s theme is New York Fashion Week and was selected by Ada. New York Fashion Week is a week long event for international fashion designers to show their to buyers, the press, and the public. Although I like clothes and all things fashion related, I’m not a big follower of events like NYFW, nor do I know who the latest designers are… So, I said all of that to say, this was a challenge for me. I feel like I say that with every challenge. But that’s the point, right?

My Look

When I picked this theme, I’d planned to wear a pair of really funky snake print hiking boots that I ordered online, but they haven’t arrived yet. I could cry. Yes, I’m being dramatic, but it’s 2020, so it’s allowed. I ended up wearing this outfit to run some errands and needed a bag to carry all my stuff, so I figured why not, grab my snake print satchel and call it a day? Normally, I’m pretty particular about prints matching tonally — deep down inside the differing tones in my bag and shoes are making my eyes twitch.

I had this tee made after the VP debates because, no matter what side of the aisle you’re on, just about every woman has had to contend with a guy speaking over her…

Don’t Forget to Visit My Co-Hosts

Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood

Ada is so pretty in pink! I know I’m supposed to focus on the snake print, but I love this color on her {seriously, look at those nails}. And now to the earrings. They are perfect. Pink and black, are like the perfect combination of rocker chic.

Sheela of Sheela Writes

Sheela said she hoped we’d let her duster pass for snake. Ummm, yes, Ma’am. The print mixing is so fabulously fun, don’t you think?

Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge

Shelbee’s shoes, y’all. Be still my heart. The crop top with the lace is both sexy and fun at the same time. Very punky and spunky.

Suzy of Suzy Turner Books & Style

Suzy cardigan is a librarian’s dream. *ahem* I’m the librarian. I love that Suzy made her snake print work appropriate. And that bag is crazy cute.

Earrings – Nickel and Suede | Orange Cardi – Similar | Tee – Identical | Handbag – Similar | Jeans – Laurie Felt Boyfriend Jeans | Flats – Similar

Do you wear snake print? Do you wear it as an accessory or is it a major part of your outfit?

Now go play in your closet,
