Fab Forties {living outside the stacks} Western Wear

When I was invited to join the Fab Forties I had no idea I’d be stretched so far out of my sartorial comfort zone. First, it was a goth look and now it’s Western Wear. Naturally, the first thing I did {after groaning} was hit up Pinterest for some inspiration. As you can tell, most of my pins have a decidedly boho spin to them. That wasn’t by accident. I mean, I love a pair of cowboy boots {you can see my one and only pair here turns out I haven’t been paying much attention to my wardrobe, one of my daughters walked my boots right on out of the house} as much as the next girl, but I don’t see me going full on cowgirl anytime soon. So I took the Western theme and gave it a boho spin…

About the Fab Forties

The Fab Forties is a group of five style bloggers from around the globe who come together once a month to share their common love of fashion. Each month we choose a different theme and invite a guest blogger, who is also in her forties, to join us. The group’s goal is to take on a style trend and show how we each interpret and incorporate it into our lives. Six different ladies, six different styles, you’re sure to find something that inspires you.

The Theme

Western Wear, selected by Jennie from A Pocketful of Polka Dots. Our guest co-host is Dee from Dee Sayz.

My Outfit

If you follow me on Instagram, then you got a sneak peek at this look a few days ago. I wasn’t sure if I was gonna go with this outfit or not, but it turns out, I really like it. Therefore, my second choice outfit will make an appearance later down the road.

I absolutely adore Suzy’s edgy take on Western Wear.

I hope you like the various interpretations on the theme. Do you have any Western inspired pieces in your wardrobe? How do you wear them? Leave a comment below, I’d love to read your thoughts.
