Friday Favorites {living outside the stacks}

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you’ve had a great week. Things here have been busy, but in a good way. I think. LOL We’re gearing up for the beginning of the Fall Semester at the college, so things are starting to get exciting. Not only is a new semester starting, but our campus is relocating downtown. We’re all pretty excited. I cannot wait to see the new library. I’ve seen the mock ups, but seeing the real thing? That’s beyond!

Anyway, this is my first time joining up with Friday Favorites… I’m supposed to share five of my favorite things from this week. So, here we go:

I enjoyed this post by Shawn from The Lyfe of Shawn. If you’re over the age of 40, you’ll completely understand. I remember when I thought 40 was old, now I think I’m just hitting my stride. Funny how that happens. I mean, I feel like I still have so much life and opportunity ahead of me, I don’t want to waste it on foolishness.

Teal Embroidered Blouse from Olive Ave Boutique {living outside the stacks}

Do you like embroidered blouses? I recently discovered the sweetest little online shop, Olive Ave Boutique, and I want ALL THE THINGS. I showed this top here, but I think it can easily be paired with a denim skirt.

I’m on the hunt for a pair of clogs. I already own this pair, but I want to add this pair to my collection. I know not everyone is a clog fan, but they really are super comfortable and incredibly versatile. I’ve worn mine with dresses, skirts, shorts, and jeans. They really are the perfect shoe. If you decide to get a pair from MIA, make sure you size up.

Sweet Bleu has been with us for a week now and she has us completely wrapped around her finger paws. I’m not sure how she ended up in the Alexandria Animal Shelter, but I want to say thank you to the person who took her there. Our entire household was in mourning over Squeekerz and, honestly, I didn’t think things would ever return to normal. Bleu didn’t replace Squeekerz – he was one of a kind, but she brought life back into our home. She has given us so much more than we have given her.

Today is the last day of our summer schedule at work, so no more Fridays off. I decided to go get myself a mani pedi. The manicurist asked if I wanted powder or gel. Honest to goodness, I had no idea what she was talking about. I mean, I know gel polish, but powder? The lady next to me explained it and suggested that I give it try. She said it’d last longer. We’ll see. Have you tried powder polish? How’d it work for you?
