I’ve always worked in casual environments – business casual during the week and jeans on Fridays – therefore, my personal style was never really an issue. Now I work in a much more formal environment. We’re still business casual during the week, but since I’m now a member of the administration, I have to bump it up a bit. In other words, blazers are now a part of my wardrobe.
At some point, I’ll show an outfit with a blazer, but right now I’m still trying to get used to wearing them. I always feel like a little kid playing dress up in my mom’s clothes… But we’ll save that chatter for another post.
l’ve shown this blouse on the blog before {here and here} and it still remains one of my favorite tops. However, this is the first time that I’ve worn it to the office.
As you can tell, this blouse is an attention grabber, so I wanted to keep everything else subtle {well, as subtle as one can be with bold mustard, purple, and black pumps).
Since I mentioned it, let’s talk about those pumps for a minute. Aren’t they funky? They have a cute triangular heel that adds a bit of the unexpected to the outfit. Because of all the color and pattern play, I knew I needed something to neutral to ground the colors. The brown tweed pants were the perfect choice. And the green leather earrings are the perfect way to show off my new haircut {a big change from my last chop}.

My tips for wearing boho in the office:
- Don’t be afraid to play with color and pattern
- Pair your boho piece with something conservative
- Add neutrals to ground the look
