Happy Makeup~Free Monday! Today is my first week of the Makeup~Free Monday challenge (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, go here) and it was actually a lot easier than I thought it’d be. But there were also some challenges.
My normal routine is foundation, eye brow pencil, eye shadow (usually 2), eyeliner, mascara, blush, lip liner, lipstick and/or gloss. This morning my routine was Olay Regenerist Anti~Aging Eye Roller (a gift from Proctor and Gamble for the employees, I’m not sure if it’s working but those rollers feel really good on my eyes), a heavy face cream (my skin gets really dry, especially in the fall/winter) and lip balm. That’s it! Bingo bango I was out the door in no time. Love!
The challenge for me was simply being able to feel comfortable in my skin. I was so aware of other women and their makeup and how “finished” they looked. However, I was also keenly aware of other makeup free women and how “clean” their faces were. I’m hoping that by the end of this challenge going makeup free will be less about how I think people are looking at me and more about how I feel about myself.
My tip for going makeup free? Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Right now the weather has gone from warm to sub~zero in a matter of days, and the heat is pumping which can be drying, so I recommend drinking lots of water and using a rich cream on your face. Don’t forget lip balm ~ no one wants to kiss dry, flaky lips!
Did you participate in Makeup~Free Monday? How was your experience?
