Last week was a good week for me ~ I didn’t lose any weight but I registered for my first 5K. Yay me! I’ll be running in the Children’s Advocacy Center 6th Annual Moonlight Run on Sunday, 25 April. I’m pretty excited. This will be my first “formal” run since I separated from the Army.
I did a 4.3 mile run/walk on Thursday, it took me roughly 57 minutes to complete. I would have finished sooner except I kept stopping to take pictures along the way. The other part that slowed me down was that the run was mostly up hill. And those hills are steep. So I think I need to map out a better route that’s not quite so hilly. The track where I like to run is still covered in snow, so that’s out of the question.
On a related note, in my quest to move past my fear of running on the treadmill, I was able to walk on the treadmill for 3 minutes without holding on to the sides with a death grip. Ok, that is big for me, so how about a little applause? I’m still going to the gym 3 to 4 times a week. I need to reintegrate the EA Sports Active and Cardio Express Dance workouts back into my weekly routines. I’ve been so sore that I really haven’t been able to keep up with them.
My eating has been realtively good. I’m drinking water but not as much as I need to in order to stay fully hydrated. So that will be my challenge for this week ~ drinking water and munching on the fruits and veggies. Gotta keep up with my fellow #fruitsnveggies challengers!
