Monday Mingle: Giving to the Cause

Monday Mingle is hosted by Eighty MPH Mom. If you’d like to participate, simply create a short vlog in which you answer the questions and then hit up the linky. Don’t forget to grab the badge and leave some comment love for your fellow participants. Afterall, isn’t that what mingling is all about?

This week’s questions were submitted by Mrs. Cox’s Slice o’ Heaven and they are:

1. If had the financial ability to donate $100,000 to a charity, which would it be and why?
2. Have you given money to a panhandler before?
3. Have you ever given your time at a soup kitchen, homeless shelter, etc. ?

Woo, I didn’t realize how much “boobage” there is in this vlog.  Ummmm….my apologies.  I guess I could redo this but I don’t feel like it.  LOL  Next week I will be in a robe, coat, blanket and whatever else is needed to keep the girls under control.  Until then, have a fab week and see you at the next Monday Mingle….

Next week’s questions were submitted by Eighty MPH Mom and they are:

1. Currently, what are your top 3 favorite television shows?
2. What is one restaurant you wish you had in your area?
3. What do you feel is the toughest part of being a parent (even if you aren’t one!)?

Girl, I have been so boondoggled with everything that I haven’t had a chance to check in with the girls. My semester just ended so I should be able to play catch up. Thank you for stopping by… Have a terrific weekend.

  • Hi Daenel! Stopping over for Monday Mingle…

I came *this* close to working for Make A Wish. I regret not taking the job offer, in fact. They are a fantastic organization. But I love the idea of giving directly to a family as well.

On another note, I hope your weight loss stuff is going well! I have to go back and see if you posted anything for Shrinking Jeans, b/c I’m hanging with those ladies lately too. 😉

  • Daenel

Thank you for visiting. So far the vegetable garden is only panning out in my mind ~ although I do have a nice selection of seeds. LOL

And, yes, I am loving the mingle ~ I need to come up with some questions to submit. Have a great week.

  • Mrs. Cox

Oh a vegetable garden would be nice…
Make a Wish Foundation is great! I like the idea of giving it to the family directly too. Good thinking.
Right, as a kid we didn’t care! You were just helping 🙂 I think it’s great. I was naive about that stuff big time, for a long time lol
Have a wonderful week!! Mingles are fun aren’t they!

  • Daenel

@Tina Thank you for stopping by ~ my husband and I used to adopt a family around the holidays and it was so much fun. I think we got more out of it than they did. That’s one of the things we look forward to doing again as soon as I find full~time employment. Anyway, have a good week.

@Susan Hi, thank you for mingling with me. I love to crochet ~ I want to learn to make something other than blankets and scarves but I don’t have the patience. LOL

  • Glad to mingle with you again.

I also love Make a Wish.

Great idea to help a family directly.

That is amazing that at such a young age you were so generous.

That’s fantastic that you make baby blankets.

    Talk more soon
    Susan

  • I love your idea of just finding a family in need and giving them the money directly. I think that there are often times when families don’t come forward and ask for help for various reason so just finding one and saying “here ya go” would be great to see the look on their faces.

Regardless of what those panhandlers spent your allowance on, the fact that at a young age you already were generous and unselfish says a lot about your character.

    Have a great week!

  • The concept is quite unique actually..i.e. the Monday Mingle. The questions are thought provoking as well as insightful.Do keep posting the questions like this Daenel.Would love to hear from you about it.

Amy, thank you for coming by… LOL The birds were incredibly noisy today, with all the rain and crazy weather I assumed they were warning me of the coming locusts or something.

I fell in love with the Make a Wish Foundation when I heard about them staging a “bank robbery” for a little boy who wanted to be a super hero. It just ripped at my heart strings.

Anyway, I hope you have a good week. Cheers!

  • Amy

I love hearing the birds in the background! I’m a fan of fresh air too and I LOVE your backyard, trimmed and gardened or not it’s beautiful 😀

I love the Make a Wish foundation too, we have their sticker on our car 🙂 I’m a sucker for children’s foundations too we did Saint Judes for a while too. I think finding a family is a great idea too because you never know how much help big charities give to individual families.

HOW CUTE! I love that you gave your allowance to a panhandler, you have such a big heart.

I this it counts as volunteer work for helping the Sisters of Mercy. To be honest I don’t know that I would have thought about helping at a soup kitchen etc if my school hadn’t pushed me to do it first.

It was lovely seeing you again Daenel, have a great week!
