Makeup Free Monday Mingle: It’s All About the Mail

It was a beautiful ceremony, even if it was hot and I had to stand outside on a football field in the sun while wearing heels. But it was so worth it to see my daughter reach this milestone. Everyone thought I’d cry and, honestly, so did I, but all I felt was an overwhelming sense of pride and accomplishment. Miss 17 graduated as a member of the National Honor Society. She never tried drugs, she didn’t get pregnant and I never had to pick her up from the police station.  I used to tell my children that they were handpicked by God to live with me.  Every day, I thank Him for the privilege, the pleasure and the trust.

Makeup Free MondayMakeup Free Monday is hosted by The Beauty Bean as an initiative for women to celebrate real beauty.  I love makeup almost as much as I love shoes but I also like encouraging women to embrace their natural beauty.  Confidence is beautiful, makeup is the enhancer.

If you decide to participate in Makeup Free Monday let me know in the comments.

Monday MingleMonday Mingle is hosted by Jenn at Eighty MPH Mom. If you’d like to participate, simply create a short vlog in which you answer the questions and then hit up the linky. Don’t forget to grab the badge and leave some comment love for your fellow participants. After all, isn’t that what mingling is all about?

This week’s questions are:
1. How long can you go without getting mail in the mailbox (not your email inbox)?

If we’re talking bills, I get that every day.  If we’re talking about letters and cards, unless my mom sends me something, I can go months.

2. Snail mail or email?  How do you conduct most of you business correspondence?

The best way to contact me is via text.  The next best way is email.  The only people I really talk to on the phone is my mom (my plan is to teach her the joys of texting this summer)…

3. Do you still send cards or letters?  What was the last card or letter you sent and to whom?

My mom fusses at me on a regular basis because I’ve forsaken all things “hard copy” for the digital world.

Next week’s questions are:
1. Have you put away the winter clothes until next year?
2. What is your typical daily summer attire?
3. Finish this sentence…  “Why is that every time I __________?”
