Pattern Mixing with Pixie Pants 4 comments

I’m so ready for the remote for my camera to arrive! Seriously, do you know how hard it is to set the timer, run, and pray the focus is still set? I know it’s possible {back focus, I think it’s called} but I’m so not that skilled. So, for now, it’s slightly blurry pictures and wind blown hair.

This cardi has been sitting in my drawer for~ever. When I saw it on TV {HSN}, I swooned. Sparkles! Bright colors! Floral print! But it was way beyond what I wanted to pay for a cardigan. I waited patiently for it to go on sale and then I scooped it up. Only to get it home and wonder what to pair it with…

Last week I decided to break out my Pixie Pants by Old Navy. I usually have a hard time with Old Navy bottoms, they just don’t fit right. But these pants? Oh my word! I wish that I’d bought one in every color! The fit is beyond perfect. And they’re comfortable as all get out.

Obviously I’m not afraid to mix patterns. Or colors. The pants will definitely make another appearance, the cardi will too. Just probably not together.

How do you feel about pattern mixing? What would you pair with this cardi? How about the pants?

    • Thank you! I’ll check out your linkup.

  • I love this outfit, though I think I’d have done a plain black top instead of a colored one, just to let the patterns be the focus here. I think that cardi would be fabulous with a maxi skirt in chevrons or stripes that incorporate one or two of the colors in it- probably the blues and greens, with a hot pink tee underneath. And I’d totally rock those pixie pants with everything. I think you need to do a large floral print top with them and maybe a solid cardigan to tone it down.

    • I usually wear the cardi with either pink or mustard underneath. The colors in it are so very flexible.

I went back and forth with the pants. I love a colored top just because I tend to like colors. Monochromatic is so not me. But I do think this may have been a lot of pattern even for me.
