I have the most generous friends in the world. My friends, Mylynka and Lupe, are training to participate in the Susan G. Komen 3~Day for the Cure to raise money for breast cancer. This is no small task, this is a 3 day walk covering 60 miles in the hot Texas sun, sleeping in tents, developing blisters and shin splints.
Why are they doing this? To honor Lupe’s mother and Mylynka’s great aunt who are both breast cancer survivors. They are also walking for those who are unable to walk because they are currently fighting the battle or they have lost their lives to breast cancer. But mostly they’re walking in the hopes that their efforts can help prevent you, your wife, your mother, your sister, your daughter (and even some of you men) from from having to face cancer without the hope of a cure.
If you or anyone you know has been touched by this awful disease, I ask you to consider donating to Mylynka and Lupe (simply click on the picture and it’ll take you their donation site). In order to participate in the 3~Day Walk, they have to raise $2300 each. No amount of money is too small. Remember, they’re doing the hard work so you don’t have to.
Disclosure: This post is not any way endorsed by Susan G. Komen or its affiliates. I am writing this post to help my friends, Mylynka and Lupe, meet their fundraising goal of $2500.
