This year I’m participating in three different photography challenges. I know, I know. I do this every year and by the middle of February I tap out. Well, this year is different. These are 52 week projects, so I’m only obligated to take 3 photos a week instead of 1 photo a day. You see, the problem with 1 photo a day is there’s a lot of pressure. And that pressure can be overwhelming, especially when you want to make sure that the photos you post are decent.

With these projects, I’m easing the pressure and focusing less on perfection and more on picking up my camera {last year, I went months without shooting anything} and being creative. I also want to do a better of job of documenting my life. Looking back, that’s probably one of my biggest regrets: I didn’t take enough pictures of my kids when they were little and I didn’t take enough pictures of The Hubs and me through the years. I want to change that…

So here they are: pictures from the challenges and the memories attached…

Week 2 Candid {living outside the stacks}

The Hubs whisked me off for a surprise trip to Savannah, GA., while there we saw a violinist playing in the park. It was incredibly beautiful.

From Above

I hate washing dishes but needed something for this week’s prompt. The sacrifice…

Something Old. Something New.

 Week 2 Something Old Something New {living outside the stacks}

I used my old Nikon D3100 to make a picture of my new{ish} Nikon D7100. Then I processed my new photograph to look like an old{er} photograph…

If you’re on Instagram, you can see photos from other participants by checking out the following hashtags:

What are you doing this year to move out of your comfort zone? How can I cheer you on?

Happy Snapping,
