Today I was such a slug. I did absolutely nothing ~ my thighs, knees and calves hurt like crazy. Honestly, I think that 30 minute 1 mile walk that I did at the gym yesterday did me in. That’ll teach me…
Today was the second day of the Shrinking Jeans Olympics (the first day for me because, well, I’m habitually late for everything) and the challenge was to do as many push ups as possible in 3 minutes. Now before I give my number, I would like to offer the following in my defense:
I have not done a push up, girlie or otherwise, since I separated from the Army in 1997 (and in the Army we only had to go for 2 minutes). The only upper body workouts that I’ve done since that time are the resistance band ones that I do with the EA Sports Active.
Enough with the excuses, here are the facts:
I tried to do the push ups twice and couldn’t do the full 3 minutes…*sigh* So the first time I lasted 1 min 28 sec and did 22 push ups. The second time I lasted 2 min and 25 sec and did 30 push ups. I had about a 5 minute break between the sets. So that means that I’m a wuss and could have done more the first time.
There you have it… In my defense (again), it was the fact that I failed the first time that made me want to do it again. Does tenacity count for anything?
Steps ~ 1722
Miles ~ 1.114
KCal ~ 76.6
Cup of coffee with 1 sugar and 3 creams
Chicken and spinach quiche
Fish sandwich with fries, 6 chicken nuggets with barbecue sauce
As you can tell I went a little overboard with the dinner. I don’t know what’s gotten into me with the healthy eating but I have seriously been slacking off. Not good. I think that’ll be my goal for this coming week: no fast food. I was doing so well but then….
I stopped with the meal planning! Doh! *slaps forehead* Now I know where I went wrong. Ok, that’s gonna get fixed now. I’m going to check my recipes and go on some sites and see if I can come up with some new things to try. Funny, how I know what works and then I just quit. I don’t like that cycle.
