September 11, 2001 #NeverForget {Living Outside the Stacks}

I well remember them,

and my soul is cast down within me.

Yet this I call to mind

and therefore I have hope:

Because of the LORD’S great love we are not consumed,

for His compassions never fail.

They are new every morning;

great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3: 20~23

So many people’s lives were forever changed on that day ~ lives were lost, people were injured, wars were {and are still being} fought. There’s a generation of kids who’re growing up having never known a time when this nation has not been at war.

There’s just so much of everything that words almost fail me. I think the best sentiment that I’ve heard  was from a good friend of mine on Facebook who suggested that instead of reserving all of our love, patriotism and service to others for one day, perhaps, we should spread it around throughout the year. Live each day as if it may be our last. Love our family and friends, tell them and show them every day. Forgive those who’ve hurt us…  Extend a helping hand to those in need. Check on elderly neighbors. hank a soldier or first responder and his or her family for their service. These may seem like little things, but they mean so much. And, hopefully, they will serve as a reminder to us of what a great country America really is.

So I leave you with this final thought, not just on today but every day, God bless you and God bless America….
