This weekend the hubs and I went to the Sikeston Drag Strip so that he could take his car for a spin. When we lived in Pennsylvania, he used to race every weekend {sometimes he’d take me on a ride along and OMG was it a blast}. I didn’t ride along with him this weekend, but I did have fun snapping some pictures…
The hubs lining up to go down the strip. You can’t see it, but there’s a big ol’ cheese eating grin on his face.
His car isn’t pimped for racing, he just wanted to see how fast it can go. He said for me to say “1/8 mile in 8 seconds flat at 87 mph with a 1.4 reaction time.” Somewhere deep down inside, I think he’s thinking that he has to get himself a toy…
I totally enjoyed watching the cars rev their engines and squeal their tires. I’m sure there’s a technical name for it but I don’t know it… It was just loud and crazy.
I was totally fascinated by the kids who were driving the cars above. Part of me was cringing but the other part of me was like “Whoa, look at those kids go!”
