Hi, this is just a short post to introduce next week’s Style Imitating Art inspiration piece.
INSPIRATION ART WORK
The image is an ad for for Arrow shirt collar by J.C. Leyendecker {the male model is his long-time partner, Charles Beach}. Leyendecker as a German-American illustrator. He’s considered to be one of the preeminent American illustrators of the early 20th century and is best known for his poster, book and advertising illustrations, the trade character known as The Arrow Collar Man, and his covers for The Saturday Evening Post. You can learn more about him by clicking here.
THE CURATOR
This week’s inspiration piece was curated by Salazar {14 Shades of Gray} because “…it is the height of summer, I wanted to pick a summery piece, and this one – with its white-and-beige color scheme and touches of green, black, and pink – just fits the bill.”
l agree! I’m definitely picking up summer vibes from the soft relaxed way the models are leaning into the railings to the muted colors in the image.
What do you think you’ll wear? I can’t wait to see!
