ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART
Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar {14 Shades of Gray}, Kim {Fierce Fashion Blog}, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art inspired outfit. My main tip for participating is not to just look at the colors but look at the textures, think about complimentary colors, etc. In other words, you don’t have to be literal in your interpretation. It’s all about looking at the items in your closet in new and creative ways — mixing colors and patterns and just having fun.
THE CURATOR
This week’s image is hosted by Kim from Fierce Fashion Blog. Kim is a fifty something style blogger with an eye for color and texture.
INSPIRATION ART WORK

Cappiello, Leonetto. “Cordial Médoc, 1904 – Leonetto Cappiello.” Www.wikiart.org, 1 Jan. 1970.
Kim wrote “the vivid grape colors and the happy look on the woman’s face are what drew me to this piece.”
Let’s see, besides the obvious shades of yellow, red, green, and burgundy, I see brown, black, and cream. There’s even a touch of orange. Really, this image has so much to work from, don’t you think?
What will you wear? I can’t wait to see.
MY LOOK
I knew when I saw the inspiration piece that I was going to wear this outfit. While the bold colors captured my attention, I decided to focus on the neutral shades.
Side note: I sent a copy of this picture to my youngest daughter and she wrote back: ”I can’t believe what a perfect accessory Bleu makes!” LOL
I rarely wear neutrals and I almost never wear white tees, but the whole point of these challenges is to venture out of our comfort zones, right? This tee has been in my drawer forever. I like the idea of white tees but I don’t think they look all that good on me. But I knew it’d be perfect under this jumpsuit.
I bought this jumpsuit on clearance at Target about a week ago. It’s a linen material which works really well in this Louisiana heat. I think that’s what attracted me to the jumpsuit. Because of the color, the jumpsuit can be paired with any color.
The only bold color in this entire outfit comes from my clogs. If you don’t own a pair of clogs, what are you even doing? They’re super versatile and can be worn with anything from pants to shorts to skirts to dresses. Seriously, get yourself a pair.

Do you wear jumpsuits? I do. I’ve found them to be versatile and comfortable, especially for days when I’m doing campus visits. If you need inspiration, visit my Pinterest board here and here.
