Style Imitating Art {living outside the stacks}

Y’all! This is it! The last month of 2019. What?! I feel like everyone says this buuuuuut where did the time go? The Chancellor at my college asked me to start combing our social media posts so we can prepare to do a highlight reel of the past 12 months. I’m. Not. Ready. It just went by too quickly.

That being said, each day, each week, each month, has been so incredibly long. The Hubs and I have been through so much this year that all I can say is THANK YOU, LORD, WE’RE STILL STANDING!

ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART

Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar {14 Shades of Gray}, Kim {Fierce Fashion Blog}, and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. Every other Monday one of us selects an inspiration image and we each post the image on our blogs. The following Monday we share our art inspired outfit. My main tip for participating is not to just look at the colors but look at the textures, think about complimentary colors, etc. In other words, you don’t have to be literal in your interpretation. It’s all about looking at the items in your closet in new and creative ways — mixing colors and patterns and just having fun.

THE CURATOR

This week’s image was chosen by Kim from Fierce Fashion Blog.

MY OUTFIT

Striped Sweater Dress Black Tights Oxfords {living outside the stacks} Daenel T

For a variety of reasons, I had to dig through the vault for an outfit for this week’s challenge… So can I tell you how happy I was to find this. I mean, seriously, how perfect is it?

The dress was on sale and I just couldn’t resist. I’m such a fan of sweater dresses… They’re so comfy and cozy.

I played it safe with my tights, but wouldn’t it be fun to pair this dress with a pair of grey sweater tights and my burgundy clogs?
