Pink Swiss Dot Baby Doll Top Laurie Felt Silky Curve Flare Leg Jeans and Blue Sketchers Sandals {living outside the stacks} #StyleImitatingArt

Hi and welcome to another round of Style Imitating Art. Have you guys been experiencing the bizarre warm-cold-warm-cold weather like us? Honestly, there were a couple of days where I wanted to pack my bags and move to the actual equator. And a few where I was like ahhhh, Louisiana, this is why I love you. I need consistent temps. That being said, these pictures were taken during the summer because the weather has been way too flaky to try to take some new ones.

ABOUT STYLE IMITATING ART

Style Imitating Art challenges us to draw style inspiration from pieces of art. My main tip for participating is not to just look at the colors but look at the textures, think about complimentary colors, etc. In other words, you don’t have to be literal your interpretation. It’s all about looking at the items in your closet in new and creative ways — mixing colors and patterns and just having fun.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day… I know I just shared my favorite style decade, in this Fab Forties post, but my favorite art style is definitely Art Deco. So I’m all kinds of excited about this image.

I see shades of red, pink, smoky teal, olive, and, of course, ivory. I have a pink Swiss Dot top that I think will bring out the snow flakes in the image.

What do you think you’ll wear? I can’t wait to see!

THE CURATOR {And new co-host}

MY LOOK

Pink Swiss Dot Baby Doll Top Laurie Felt Silky Curve Flare Leg Jeans and Blue Sketchers Sandals {living outside the stacks} #StyleImitatingArt

I’m glad I had this outfit in my archives as I knew I was going to wear the top, I just wasn’t sure what I was going to pair it with {although I had two ideas: olive cargo jacket and jeans or black cardigan and camo pants}. But the jeans work because, well, they’re jeans. I need to remember these ideas for later posts…

Side note: Y’all, look at what these jeans are doing for my heiny. You know I had to be feeling good to share this shot.
