Style Imitating Art Two Acrobats with a Dog {living outside the stacks}

Welcome to another week of Style Imitating Art, where we draw our style inspiration from works of art. This week’s selection was curated by Jen from Librarian for Life and Style.

STYLE IMITATING ART INSPIRATION

Two Acrobats with a Dog by Pablo Picasso {WikiArt Public Domain}

Two Acrobats with a Dog by Pablo Picasso {The image is from the WikiArts domain collection}

This painting was chosen by Salazar because “…of the blue tones (even though it’s actually from Picasso’s Rose Period) and the dog (of course), and the harlequin pattern is also an interesting detail.” Hmmmm, this one is gonna be a tough one for me. I don’t think I own anything any of those shades…

You can read more about the painting here.

MY LOOK

This challenge was hard for me for a variety of reasons: the first one being that almost all of my clothes have been packed away in anticipation of our move to Louisiana and the other is that I could not, for the life of me, think of anything blue that I have in my closet.

I know jeans are an option, but I’ve been showing a lot of jeans lately, so I wanted to do something a little different…

So I dipped into my box of accessories and found these yellow earrings that I don’t think I’ve ever worn, but will be making more appearances over the summer. I mean, how fabulous are they?

I thought the white eyelet shirt with the white tank underneath, brought out the argyle-like print in the acrobat’s outfit and the plaid print in my Pixie Pants also mimic the argyle.

The brown leather on my bag represents the pup {I tried to get Squeekerz in the picture, but he’s all angst right now because of the move so…}.

You can’t really tell, but these tweed shoes have all sorts of colors in them – reds, browns, blacks, blues, yellows, whites, etc. And the heel is a fun triangular shape that made me think of balance and strength and all the other fun stuff that comes with seeing an acrobatic performance.

All of my outdoor furniture is gone now, so my porch looks so bare. I’m gonna miss taking my photos here — it had great {dramatic} lighting and I could be weird without my neighbors noticing. LOL

Just a reminder, it’s not to late to send your outfit interpretation join in the roundup, details posted below.
