November Photo A Day Challenge: Days 10~15 {In the Dark Room}

Day 10: Book

Day 10 Book {Living Outside the Stacks}

When I moved out on my own, I took three things from my parents’ home: a few books, a chess set, and a doll.

Day 11: Memory

Day 11 Memory {Living Outside the Stacks}

1994. I was promoted to Corporal by Capt. DeMassey and the hubs. Side note, I’m pretty certain I was violating all kinds of reg with the glasses and lipstick.

Day 12: Clouds

Day 12 Clouds {Living Outside the Stacks}

The weather has been all over the place. One minute it’s cold, the next it’s hot. I need stability.

Day 13: Part of Me

Day 13 Part of Me {Living Outside the Stacks}

My eyes are my favorite features, even though I’m blind as a bat without my glasses.

Day 14: Eating

Day 14 Eating {Living Outside the Stacks}

One of my favorite salads is the Waldorf Salad. I’m not sure if it’s the juicy grapes, tart apple slices, or sweet and crunchy nuts that I like best.

Day 15: In My Pocket/Purse

Day 15 In My Purse {Living Outside the Stacks}

My bags are big. I carry a lot of stuff.

November Photo A Day Challenge: Days 4~9 {In the Dark Room}

Happy Monday, y’all! I hope you guys had a good weekend. My weekend started on Friday and lasted through Sunday. Yay for long weekends! We didn’t do anything, just hung out around the house. But, sometimes, you just need to take a break and do nothing, amiright? But there are times when you really need to get away from it all…

I think next time the hubs and I have some time off we’re going to try to go exploring.

This week’s pictures are a mix of camera phone and DSLR shots. I find that if I mix it up I’m more likely to post a picture for that day’s prompt. I guess this means I like flexibility in my tasks. See, these challenges are more than vanity ticks, they teach you about yourself too.

So without further ado, here are my interpretations:

Day 4 Table {Living Outside the Stacks}

Day 4: Table

Vintage material covers my table

Day 5 I Collect {Living Outside the Stacks}

Day 5: I collect

Coffee cups. Are you surprised?

Day 6: Music {Living Outside the Stacks}

Day 6: Music

I have absolutely no musical talent.

Day 7: Yes {Living Outside the Stacks}

Day 7: Yes

Yes to all this.

Day 8: Someone I miss {Living Outside the Stacks}

Day 8: Someone I miss

There are times when I’m ashamed to say that it doesn’t cross my mind that my dad is gone. Then there are times when it hits me like a ton of bricks and I crumble…

Day 9: Mine {Living Outside the Stacks}

Day 9: Mine

The best gift the hubs has ever given me. And that includes the children.

It has been waaaay too long since I’ve picked up my camera to shoot anything other than my clothes.

{Fruit} Day 1 #FMSphotoaday

Day 1: Fruit

Confession: that apple was the last from a purchase from about a month ago. On one side it was wilted and bruised. Miss 18 was totally skeeved the whole time it was in her hands.

{I Did This Today} Day 2 #FMSphotoaday

Day 2: I Did This Today

I do this every day. For further proof, check out my Instagram feed.

November Photo A Day {Instagram}

cue the cheering crowds

I did it! I did it! I took 30 photos for 30 days. I cannot believe I did it. Some of the photos have been less inspired than others but, you know what, it’s my life and I thank God for each and every day of it.

Day 25: sky

Day 25 the sky {Living Outside the Stacks}

This is the view from my living room window, it never gets old. God is awesome.

Day 26: in the cupboard

Day 26 in the cupboard {Living Outside the Stacks}

One of my favorite dollar store finds, a coffee mug.

Day 27: tree

Day 27 tree {Living Outside the Stacks}

The Christmas tree in the library, decorated with book jackets. Creative, no?

Day 28: vehicle

Day 28 vehicle {Living Outside the Stacks}

My big and obnoxious baby. For the first time in over 8 years, my entire family can fit in the same vehicle.

Day 29: big

Day 29 big {Living Outside the Stacks}

The hubs and I went shopping for new silverware and we couldn’t get over how big silverware has gotten. Seriously, the teaspoons are the size of serving spoons. Why?

Day 30: on the wall

Day 30 on the wall {Living Outside the Stacks}

Our family motto is from Joshua 24:15: “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household,we will serve the Lord.”

November Photo A Day {Instagram}

Time for another week in review, Instagram style. I’m so enjoying this Photo A Day Challenge, it’s fun to look back over the week and see all that’s happened. The prompts may seem random but it really requires a bit of creativity to capture memories…

Day 18: happened this weekend

Day 18 It Happened This Weekend {Living Outside the Stacks}

The hubs made dinner for us: Hamburger Helper for himself and the kids and big ol’ hamburgers for me. This made me incredibly happy.

Day 19: something awesome

Day 19 Something Awesome {Living Outside the Stacks}

Can I get a “What? What?” The hubs made dinner two nights in a row! Pork steaks, rice and stuffing (he’s not much of a veggie man).

Day 20: work/play

Day 20 Work/Play {Living Outside the Stacks}

Even with all of the tech toys at my disposal, I still write my to do list out by hand and then transfer the library related stuff to my online calendar. Redundant, I know but that’s part of my charm.

Day 21: what you wore

Day 21 What You Wore {Living Outside the Stacks}

I’m totally digging colored tights, especially now that the weather’s getting colder. I also love that they don’t have to match, they just have to go with… Gosh, being a girl is so much fun.

Day 22: grateful

Day 22 Grateful {Living Outside the Stacks}

I’m grateful to God for my family who provides me with laughter and love all year long. We all gathered at my house for Thanksgiving this year, which was truly a blessing after being away from everyone for almost 15 years.

Day 23: black

Day 23 Black {Living Outside the Stacks}

My Nikon D3100. The best gift the hubs has ever given me. And that includes the children.

Day 24: a sound you heard

Day 24 Sound You Heard {Living Outside the Stacks}

Squeekerz, our Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix, spent a lot of time barking this week. He’s not much for company. Or the people who actually live in the house. Unless we have Girl Scout Cookies. Or bread.

So that’s my week in review. Nothing super exciting, just a life that I thank God for every single day. How was your week?

Are you on Instagram? If you are, give me a shout out, I’m 4daenelt!
