TBB Asks Holiday Themed Q&A {The Blended Blog}
I remember when I first started blogging, a bizillion light years ago, we used to do these fun little linkups where someone would ask a series of questions and everyone would answer. Sometimes they were in the form of videos, sometimes they were typed out. Either way, it was just a fun and easy way to get to know people. In recent years, the fun part of blogging has given way to the business side of blogging and things really haven’t been the same since. Let me add that I do not begrudge anyone turning this into a side hustle, all I’m saying is that I miss the fun and intimacy of getting to know other people. So when I saw this cute little questionnaire over on Leslie’s blog, Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After, I immediately decided to play along. The linkup is actually hosted by Andrea at The Blended Blog. When you get a chance, check out both of their blogs.

Here are my answers:

  1. Definitely fake. I saw where someone bought a real tree, got it home, and found a baby dinosaur in it. I have enough of those things living on a porch, don’t need one in my house. Our current tree is white, but I used to have a purple one. Next year, I want one of those cute ones that are made out of body forms, but I haven’t been able to talk The Hubs into that. Yet.
  2. Whatever my sister~in~law sends the girls me. Every year, she and my mother~in~law send a box of cookies to our house. Well, the girls are in college now, so they don’t technically live in our house anymore. Therefore, they forfeit their mail, right?
  3. We’re usually home on Christmas morning. Since the kids are in college, married, or working, we don’t really travel during the holidays, but we do make time to go see them during other times of the year. Ain’t gonna lie though, I miss being around my babies during this time of the year.
  4. Clear lights. I’m one of those moms who used to redecorate the tree after the kids went to bed because they did it wrong. I’m a little *insert horror music with a Christmas flair* about decorating.
  5. Every year I ask for people’s addresses and every year I get on Facebook and apologize.
  6. I don’t know that I have a favorite present but I do have a favorite memory. I think I was about 5 or 6  years old at the time. My grandparents owned a house in Spotsylvania County, Virginia and one year all of us {grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins} went to the house to celebrate Christmas. The house was two floors and the tree {real} was so tall that my uncle had to go up to the balcony to put the star on it. Then he proceeded to hang a stocking from the balcony railing for all of us kids. It was the biggest stocking ever. Full of candy and fun little toys. My grandfather and all of us kids put together a gingerbread house and then we sat by the fire. That was the last Christmas that our entire family was together. I’m glad that I have that one memory.
  7. Hands down, it has to be Squeekerz. While we didn’t get him for Christmas, we did get him just before Christmas because the kids had done really well in school and we promised.
  8. No stockings. But I did put up garland around the fireplace this year.
  9. No, but I wish that I’d started that tradition when the kids were little.
  10. Silent Night by The Temptations.
  11. Hmmmm…. we don’t really have any traditions. When the kids were little, The Hubs used to read the Christmas story to them before they could open their gifts.
  12. I’m definitely a last minute shopper. Mostly because I never know what to get anyone.
  13. My sisters and I used to watch A Christmas Story every year with my dad. My kids don’t find it nearly as funny as I do, so…
  14. Coffee. All day. Every day.
  15. Nope. We were never taught to believe in Santa, nor did we teach our children.
