MY OPINION

I’m not usually a fan of contemporary romance/urban fiction but I decided to give this book a try because Jaye Cherie is a new author and, well, I always want to support new authors…

If you’ve ever been through relationship drama, second guessed business decisions, or wanted to give your mother the side eye {from behind closed doors, of course} then you’ll find something in this book that you can identify with.

Alex is in her mid~thirties and has spent most of her adult life focused on her career, to the detriment of her relationships. As a result of changes at work and her ticking biological clock, Alex starts rethinking her life choices, to the point where she rekindles a relationship with an ex. eye roll He’s an ex for a reason, lady!

And that’s how I spent most of the book, internally yelling at Alex because of some of her decisions/reactions. All she had to do was ask some questions, quit jumping to conclusions, and breathe. The sad part is, I think just about every woman has been there on some level…

If you’re looking for a quick and easy read, this is it. Just beware that you’ll find yourself revisiting some scenes and questioning the emotional maturity of the leading character.

This book is for fans of contemporary urban novels or someone who’s looking for an easy summer read.
