This week has been spent learning how to use Nia, my new Nikon D3100. I have to admit, I was a bit intimidated by all the settings but the Guide setting has made it so easy to figure out what I’m doing. I’ve practiced using the Automatic, Guide and Manual settings and I’m pretty impressed with the quality of all of the photos, but I also see that I have a long way to go but here are a few of my shots from this week:

My dog, Squeekerz…

This was taken at my house using the flash and overhead lighting, I also used the Macro setting

I took this last night down at the Mississippi Water Front, I think using a tripod would have made the picture sharper but I’m still pleased with the way it turned out

Tree Stump at the Conservation Center

Tree Stump with Fungus

I took this a couple of days ago during one of my many walks at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Center. I love it there, so much peace and beauty.
