We had our “Official” 1 mile timed run yesterday. This is the run that shows how much we have or have not improved over the course of the 8 week training session. I haven’t really set a time goal yet, I just wanted to start an exercise program and finish it. But if I have to set a goal, I would like to shave two minutes off my time. I think that’s doable.
Towards that goal, I already feel like I’m getting stronger. And my stamina has increased. I can run half a mile without stopping, which is a big step forward for me. My endurance goal is to run a full mile without stopping.
I’ve also started running with music. This is new for me but I read that running with music can help you increase your speed. The jury is still out on that one as far as I’m concerned, but we’ll see. Right now I’m using the Pop and Hip Hop Workout Station on Pandora but I’d rather listen to something a little more inspirational, which means I may be switching over to Spotify. Which makes me sad because I do big puffy heart Pandora.
