Training for #5Kfor40 {Living Outside the Stacks}
Freckles, Sweat and Zits… It’s all out there!

Yesterday, I declared myself a runner on both Facebook and Instagram. Why? Because I willingly ran 2.31 miles in 96° weather. This is big for me. I didn’t like running when I was paid to do it in the U.S. Army, now I’m doing it for free. And liking it. Who is this girl?
Doing all of this running has made me more aware of what I eat. Really, there’s no point in running and then filling my body up with garbage, right? So, I’ve been trying to drink at least one green smoothie every morning and then up my water intake. The only thing I haven’t totally given up is fast food. I do love myself some French Fries and sweet tea. But I have cut back a lot. Funny how taking that one step has changed me so much.

I’ve noticed that I feel more confident. I’m stronger. Climbing the stairs, walking up hills, those things don’t get me winded as easily as they used to. Even during the runs, I feel myself wanting to push forward. Running may not be for everyone but trust me when I say: Get up, get out, and do something!
