MY OPINION

I’ve mentioned several times before that I grew up in the church but as soon as I was old enough, I ran. One of the many reasons that I chose to leave the church was because I had a hard time reconciling the idea that women had to be submissive to men in both their homes and their churches. It wasn’t until I was older and began to study the Bible on my own that I realized that God did not create woman as the weaker sex, to be looked down upon by man.

Instead, woman was created as a compliment to man.

In her book , What Every Woman Should Know, Jori Sams explores the creation of woman and her place as man’s help meet from the Garden of Eden to  the modern home. Through deep analysis of scripture, historical study, and social commentary, Sams explains the one thing that every woman should know: that she is “fearfully and wonderfully made” {Psalm 139:14}.

I would recommend this book for a women’s study group, as there are study questions and key points for study at the end of the book. As a former instructor, I also appreciate the bibliography at the end {perfect for people who like to do their own research or dig a little deeper}.
