THE AGELESS STYLE LINKUP
Hiiii! How are you? I’m doing well. You can’t really tell but I’ve had a bit of a hair change. I was off work and got a little bored, so I grabbed the scissors and snipped. You can see another view here and full shots here. People are always like “I cannot believe you cut your own hair!” Yeah, I do. Because if I hate it, I’d rather be mad at myself than someone else. I’m weird that way. I’m thinking about adding some purple and teal streaks, but I may hold off on that for a little while. I don’t know…
Anyway, it’s the first Tuesday of the month, which means it’s time for another Ageless Style Linkup. Yay!! The Ageless Style Linkup showcases 10 ladies with 10 different styles with 1 theme. Our hope is to show you that style doesn’t have an age limit.
This month’s theme is Holiday Looks and was selected by Shelly from The Queen In Between. Honestly, The Hubs and I don’t do much for the holidays because we spend so much time on the road visiting our grandkids, so dressing up isn’t really a priority. Therefore, my “holiday look” is more of a casual but fun look.
Edited to add: The Hubs and I were invited to a super casual Christmas party; to see what we wore, click here and here.
MY LOOK
People who know me, know that I’m deathly afraid of birds. Seriously, those rodents with wings FREAK. ME. OUT. But whenever I see something with a bird print, I’m all over it. When I saw this dress, I picked it up, put it down. Put it in my cart. Walked around with it. Hung it back up. Ran back and grabbed it. Contemplated it in line. And then bought it because, well, I was at the cash register and I didn’t want to be *that* person.
All the way home from the store, I just kept imagining the different ways I could wear the dress. With and without tights. With boots. With flats. With oxfords. With pumps. And oooooh the cardigans. Yeah, I took the long way home. Do you do that when you get something new? Start putting together outfits.
Anyway, I knew I was going to pair the dress with a pair of contrasting tights because, hello, cute! I just hoped the weather would cooperate with me. I live in Georgia, so you never know. {un}Fortunately, the library is freeeeezing, so I was able to wear my tights and a cute cardi. For inspiration, I turned to Pinterest because, while I have my own ideas of what colors work well together, sometimes, that corally pink color of the birds can be a little difficult.
Cardigan ~ Old | Dress ~ Target | Tights ~ Old | Boots ~ Old
For size information: I’m 5’5″ and wear a size L in the dress and cardigan and a size 8.5 in the boots.
Apologies for the grainy photos, I forgot to bump down the ISO on the camera and I didn’t feel like doing any re~takes. You know how it is…
